Residents of Lawrence Township are planning an innovative strategy to supplement their energy needs. As part of the Sustainable Lawrence Initiative, we are creating Lawrence Solar, a pilot project to harvest energy from the sun.
All the benefits without the Roof Panels
You won't need to put a solar panel on your roof to receive the benefits of pollution-free and worry-free electricity. For no more than you pay for electricity today, you can buy locally-grown solar energy from Lawrence Solar. Your participation provides insurance against increasing fuel prices while doing something good for the planet at the same time.
The average electricity use in a Lawrence household is 9000 kilowatt hours per year. This is equivalent to 15,300 pounds of coal, or 9900 pounds of CO 2 per year. By converting to solar energy for electricity, your coal use, and your CO 2 pollution, will be zero.
