The 2024 Bike Rodeo and Electric Vehicle Meetup event on Saturday, May 11th at Lawrence High School was a huge success, with an estimated 200 participants, many of them children!
The Lawrence Police were guiding all young ones on their bikes through a variety of safe and adventurous paths.
Food trucks, free helmets (70 distributed), free helmet fittings, free bike repairs and recycling opportunities – and even a fire truck display – were there for everyone!
Oh! And the electric car show to be on site as well? A big hit!

**Drivers are required to stay at least 4 feet away from cyclists, but keep your eyes open for any situations where vehicle drivers may not see you
**Obey all signs and signals on the road
eBikes and even eScooters have grown incredibly popular over the years – they’re great fun (particularly on hills)! However, riders should always remember that they are powered by strong batteries that could pose serious safety issues well worth attention.
For instance, damaged or defective batteries can overheat, catch fire or even explode. That’s something worth knowing!
